    With 15 rural schools recently added to the 88 smart schools in April this year, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) along with the Education Ministry is looking at increasing the number of smart schools 100-fold by the end of next year.

    Farmers go digital

    Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) approached FAMA with an innovative idea to compile the information of the farmers selling their produce at pasar tani in a database that consumers could access online thus enabling the farmers to connect with prospective buyers 24/7. Registration is done at the markets with a smart card application developed by MSC Malaysia that captures the relevant data of each farmer using his or her MyKad.

    More smart schools

    The Education Ministry is extending the smart school programme to another 15 rural schools, said Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) executive officer, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali.
    After 88 schools have been chosen for the smart school programme, the Education Ministry is extending the programme to 15 rural schools nationwide.
    The schools were expected to be announced at the project launching scheduled in April, said Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) chief executive officer, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali.
    The Ministry of Health and the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) are spearheading an initiative,the Integrating Health Enterprise (IHE), for the healthcare industry.
    South Korea is interested in MSC Malaysia's smart school's content development.
