Asia Pacific ICT Awards

The Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) is an international Awards Programme initiated by the Multimedia Developement Corporation (MDeC) to provide a platform for innovators and entreprenuers in the ICT sectors in the region to benchmark their products and to network. It is also aimed at stimulating economic & trade relations and technology transfer, providing companies with business matching opportunities and exposure to venture capitalists and investors, and increasing community awareness in ICT.

    A detailed, centralised database on poverty in the country (www.ekasih.gov.my) is one of the 17 winners at the 11th MSC Malaysia Asia-Pacific Apicta Awards.
    The 11th MSC Malaysia Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards have attracted a record number of 538 applications, surpassing last year's 383 applications
    The theme of this year’s MSC Malaysia Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (Apicta) is Stimulating creativity and excellence in ICT.
    The MSC Malaysia Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (MSC Malaysia APICTA Awards), to be held in August, is expected to once again showcase the best of Malaysia's ICT industry.

    Teens ‘Rap’ to robotics

    Forward-minded students from Sultan Alam Shah Putrajaya secondary school  redesign the angklung for the 21st century and call it the Robotic Angklung Player (Rap) won the Merit Award for the Secondary Student Project at the APICTA Awards  in Melbourne.

    eKL wins coveted awards

    Technology Leadership category at the Government Technology Awards 2009, FutureGov Summit 2009. Best of e-Government and Services category at MSC Malaysia APICTA 2009 Awards, are among the growing number of eKL accolades.
    The Rakancop service that enables members of the public to SMS the police to report crimes, make enquiries on summons, and even notify the police on traffic-congested areas beat 17 other finalists to win the MSC Malaysia Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology Alliance (Apicta) Prime Minister’s Choice Award because of its contribution to the community.
    There are more nominees vying for the MSC Malaysia Asia Pacific ICT (information and communications technology) Alliance awards this year than previously.

    Record nominees for APICTA 2009

    The total of 383 nominees competing for the 10th MSC Malaysia Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) 2009 awards at the Putra World Trade Centre on 8 October is the largest number so far in its nine year history. These numbers are up from the 359 nominees last year and this also is the first time when the annual MSC Malaysia APICTA awards is jointly organised by MDeC and PIKOM.
    The Malaysian government agency MDeC (Multimedia Development Corporation) has opened for nominations its Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) 2009 for the 10th year.
