Twenty two C-level executives from MSC Malaysia Shared Services and Outsourcing (SSO) multinational companies (MNCs) congregated in an attempt to address the talent issue that has been a hot topic within the MSC Malaysia community.

The discussion revolved around identifying the leadership qualities and management capabilities emphasized by the companies.

The half-day session was done in a workshop format to elicit the qualities that global corporation expect in their leaders. Leading the discussion was Dr Karl Ng, Senior Manager, Capacity Development, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), who shared on the various programmes that are designed to help develop leadership qualities and skills.

“We have many professionals who are leading the global corporation in Malaysia, such as AMD and ACS. We have capable people, just not enough of them,” he said.

Boon Somchit, Vice President of AMD Global Services, AMD, shared her experience in AMD and how the company cultivates a positive environment in nurturing future leaders.
“I am proud to say that AMD Global Services was started and run by Malaysians. We pride ourselves on becoming indispensable to the organization and we will continue to exert leadership qualities to maintain that position,” she said.
