CYBERJAYA, July 14, 2009: Eight new faces, from the corporate and public sectors, have been appointed by the Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak to the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC)’s Board of Directors.

MDeC Chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Halim Ali said the new members are;

  1. YBhg. Datin Madinah Muhamad
    Secretary-General of Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation (MOSTI)

  2. YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Irwan Serigar bin Abdullah
    Under-Secretary, Economic Division, Ministry of Finance (MOF)

  3. YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Azman bin Hj. Mokhtar
    Managing Director of Khazanah Nasional

  4. YBhg. Datuk Karunakaran a/l Ramasamy
    Executive Director of KR Advisory, Sdn Bhd.

  5. YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Kamaljit Singh
    Executive Director of Global Innovation Research Centre Sdn Bhd.

  6. En. Mohamed Sharil Mohamed Tarmizi
    Chief Operating Officer of Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC)

  7. En. Mohammed Rashdan Yusof
    Chairman and Co-Founder of Maybank Investment Bank Berhad (MIBB)

  8. En. Wan Ahmad Shihab Ismail bin Wan Ismail
    Special Officer to the Honourable Prime Minister, Prime Minister’s Office

Abdul Halim said the appointments are effective from 1st May, 2009 for a - tenure of two years, until 30th April 2011.

Abdul Halim also expressed MDeC’s deepest appreciation and gratitude to the former members of its Board of Directors, YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah, YBhg.
